AOA Taps VOA Members

Incoming AOA President, Dr. Ron Hopping, recently announced his appointments to AOA Committees, including Dr. Shannon Franklin of Crozet and Dr. Jeff Michaels of Glen Allen.  Shannon will become VOA President in June while Jeff is a past VOA President.

Dr. Franklin has been reappointed to the AOA InfantSEE Committee.  The Committee is tasked with promoting the InfantSee program and enlisting volunteers for this highly credited program.

Dr. Michaels has been appointed as a member of the AOA Clinical Resources Group’s Executive Committee and also as Chair of the AOA’s OD Registries Committee.  The Clinical Resources Group provides counsel and oversight on diverse and extensive topics and issues which may assist AOA members in their practice.  The OD Registries Committee is charged with designing an OD Registry for both Physician Quailty Reporting System (PQRS) and outcomes trending for continuous quality improvement.

The Virginia association is pleased the AOA recognizes some of the talent we have here in the Commonwealth.
